This website contains the Family Tree of Sadat-e-Amroha. Amroha is situated in 28 54’N and 78 28’E. It is connected by road rail from Muradabad and Sumbhal. Today it is District Amroha of Uttar Pradesh. Local account of the origin of its name differs. Some derive ‘Amroha from the Sanskrit word ‘Amrovanam’, the region of mangoes’. An alternative theory claims that that the name is a compound of ‘Am’ (mango) and ‘Roh’ (a fish found in the lakes of Amroha). Yet another etymology traces the word back to Raja Amarjoda of the Bansi dynasty, who in 474 B.C., named the region Amroha. One reason is also given in the book ‘Basic Bhogal’ for class III, that is old name was ‘Ajeebpur’. When Sharfuddin Shah Wilayat came to Amroha, old inhabitants of this region presented him ‘Rohu’ a kind of fish and Aam (Mangoes), so he named this region as ‘Aamroh’ which later on became Amroha. Historical sources are silent about the rulers of Amroha in the period of Ancient India.

The author of Tarikh-i-Amroha, records that Amroha was ruled by Rajputs between 676 A. D. and 1141 A.D. and this is all the information we have. In contrast, references to Amroha abound in the documents of the medieval period and its chronicles, Salar Masood Ghazi conquered Amroha in 589 A. H. 1193 A. D. Sultan Shamsuddin Iltutmish (1211-36) appointed a muqta at Wilayat-e-Amroha, but no date is supplied for this appointment by Minhaj in his work Tabaqat-i-Nasiri. Behram Shah (1240-42) appointed Malik Jalaluddin as the Hakim of Amroha in 1242 A.D. Ghiyasuddin Balban (1266-87) crushed a rebellion in this region, and so ruthless was his repression that the territory of Badaun and Amroha remained peaceful till the region of Jalaluddin Khilji (1290-96). During the region of Kaiqubad (1287-90), Ambar Sultan build a mosque at Amroha in 1287 A.D which is known as Kaiqubadi Masjid in Mohalla Saddo of Amroha.

Most of the people belonging to Sadat-e-Amroha migrated to Pakistan after the India was divided in August 1947. Now people of Sadat-e-Amroha are settled all over the world. It was therefore felt necessary to create a Family Tree so that the coming generations could know better about their ancestors and also record their descendents for the guidance of future generations.

Search System: The names of all persons belonging to Sadat-e-Amroha have been segregated in original Mohallas of Amroha In order to find out your name, please write your Mohalla and if you do not live in India, write (Pak), (Canada), (USA) or (UK).and then write your name and click the button Find. Your name would appear on the screen.

The site is under construction and there is possibility of mistakes. Those are visiting this site are requested to let me have their comments and also point out the mistakes so that I could make necessary corrections.

CAUTION

I HAVE OBSERVED THAT MEMBERS OF SADAT-E-AMROHA FAMILY ADD THE NAMES OF THEIR DESCENDANTS WITHOUT MAINTAINING THE FORMAT OF THE FAMILY TREE. IN THIS CONNECTION I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST YOU THAT WHILE MAKING ADDITIONS, PLEASE TYPE THE NAME OF YOUR DESCENDANT IN THE COLUMN PROVIDED FOR FIRST NAME , LEAVE THE NEXT COLUMN BLANK AND WRITE DOWN THE AMROHA MOHALLAH IN THE COLUMN PROVIDED FOR THE LAST NAME. I HOPE THAT MEMBERS WILL USE CAUTION WHILE RECORDING THE NAMES OF THEIR DESCENDANTS.

ONE THING MORE. THE FAMILY TREE IS OF THE SADAT AND THEREFORE DO NOT PRINT NAQVI, JAFRI, ZAIDI ETC. MOHALLA DANISHMANDAN BELONG TO TAQVIS, MOHALLA CHAKLI COVERS JAFRIS. FOR OTHER BRANCES I HAVE ATTACHED THE BRANCH WITH MOHALLA. FOR EXAMPLE, DARBAR-E-KALAN/ZAIDI. KALI PAGRI/HASANI. MOHALLA KOT ALSO BELONGS TO HASANI SYEDS. SO PLEASE DON’T MENTION NAQVI OR JAFRI OR ZAIDI.

IT IS ALSO OBSERVED THAT MEMBERS ARE UPLOADING MORE THAN ONE PHOTOGRAPH. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE AS THIS
WEBSITE CAN ONLY ACCEPT 5000 PHOTOGRAPHS. THERE ARE ALREADY MORE THAN 43000 PERSONS IN THE FAMILY
TREE. IT IS MY EARNEST REQUEST THAT MEMBERS SHALL NOT UPLOAD MORE THAN ONE PHOTOGRAPH.

LOADING! Please wait ...
